Brief Description of Walter Reed Med Gas:
In September of 2002, the Fort Berthold Development
Corporation was awarded the Walter Reed Med Gas Project.
The project entails complete modifications, replace
failing equipment, and to correct code violations to
the medical gas system at Building 2 (Heaton Pavilion).
The work is to include replace the medical gas source
on the 9th floor and at the bulk tank site, replace
oxygen tanks, nitrogen equipment will be replaced with
a bulk liquid tank, and new piping at the bulk tank
site. The carbon dioxide source equipment will be relocated
to cylinder storage room. The nitrogen, carbon dioxide,
oxygen, and laboratory air and vacuum risers will be
installed and modifications to the existing system will
be completed. New master alarms and medical gas management
system will also be installed. Various other components
that are associated with these renovations will also
be completed.
Once the project is completed the medical gas system
will be re-certified in accordance with NFPA 99, 1999
edition.
