Brief Description of the ARL Center Flywheel
UPS Project:
In September 2003, the Fort Berthold Development Corporation
was awarded the above contract, which was completed
in August 2004. FBDC was to provide a technical design
and construction of a turnkey for two Rotary UPS unites
in Bldg. 207. The technical design included an electrical
load study, tie in the new UPS into the existing system,
and design the proper location for the units to help
keep costs to a minimum, and compare three different
manufacturers and supply the government with the best
overall product. FBDC had to construct and install the
new UPS system while the government employees were working
in the area. FBDC coordinated closely with the user
as to control the least amount of disturbances. The
outages that were scheduled had to be planned at least
two and a half weeks prior to the work being completed.
The outages were completed when scheduled and in the
shortest amount of time.
